10 Badass Books I'm Excited to Read in 2020

Not that I’m trying to rush through the end of this decade…but how excited am I for these new books coming out in 2020? Um, very.

 

Samantha Irby is the author of two hilarious essay collections. I expect this one to be equally funny. Release date: March 31

 
 

Excited for this new release from the author of “How to Own the Room: Women and the Art of Brilliant Speaking”. Release date: February 2

 
 

Jen Weiner is back - and she’s going back to the beach! Release date: May 19

 
 

I thoroughly enjoyed each of the previous thrillers written by this duo, especially The Wife Between Us.. Excited for this one! Release date: March 3

 
 

I have no doubt this one will be just as good as Staub’s previous novels, The Vacationers and Modern Lovers. Release date: May 5

 
 

This one is technically not a 2020 book (it’s release date is December 31, 2019) but I’m going to include it because 1) I’m sure I won’t read it until 2020, and 2) it comes highly recommended from some Badass Women’s Book Club members who’ve read the advanced copy.

 
 

Lauren McGoodwin is the founder of the web platform, Career Contessa. Her first book is sure to be a must-have career resource. Release date: May 19

 
 

Kristen Meinzer and Jolenta Greenberg are co-hosts of the podcast “By the Book”. This is an entertaining compilation of their experience with what advice works - and what doesn’t. Release date: March 17

 
 

Leah Franqui’s “America for Beginners” was a touching and witty novel. I’m sure this one will be just as enjoyable. Release date: July 14

 

I’ve enjoyed following the writing adventures of Ann Friedman and Aminatou Sow, co-hosts of Call Your Girlfriend podcast, as they’ve dived into writing their first book. The title is Big Friendship: How We Found One, Almost Lost It and Kept It Together (no cover photo available yet!) Can’t wait for it to hit the shelves! Release date: July 14
